Hi
I'm sorry to hear about your brother. He might need to get CT and MRI scans to see what is wrong with him.

Can I go to neurologist rather than ER doctor?

OK, I'll have a stab at this one to try to help you out. Firstly why is he going to the ER?
Maybe once and then with no guidence I would have gone to local GP. The GP would then order a CT scan of both his head and back and possibly blood tests, when he gets these results he would refer your brother onto a Specialist, for the head and memory loss most likely a Neurologist for the back possibly a Neurosurgeon. I cannot see the value in going back to the ER. Yes Specialst visits do incur a cost but it is really the only way to get to the bottom of your brothers condition. You need to find a local doctor and take it from there. This answer is most likely too late but how has it ended up?

Farign,
My first time on site.
Definately needs MRI and depending and referal to very good Neurosurgeon in your area. ASAP. Personal experience the longer these injuries are left, the worse they get, the more difficult recovery is.
No Doubt some type of Injury Insurance? Good luck with that!
Anyway to get private treatment. He is only 19. I dread something similar happening to my boys. Life ruining/changing stuff.

if he has been having such pains in the back region.. I don't think a chiro would have helped, if they had been manipulating that is.

hope he found a solution by now.
