I was wondering if anyone could help me out and give me some advice on a calf muscle strain that i've done recently.
Yesterday in an indoor soccer match i received a knee to the inside of my right calf muscle. Tried to play for a few more minutes and run the injury out, but ended up hopping off unable to put any pressure at all on my right leg.
Soon after i elevated my leg and applied an icepack to the area of pain (inside of calf, towards the knee) for 20 minutes, but didn't do anything. Later i had to go into town for an appointment, and after a while i seemed to be able to walk pretty much normally without too much pain. But after resting afterwards, it seemed to seize up - i now cannot bend my leg much at all, and i can only walk with my right leg slightly bent and on tippie-toes. Can anyone tell me what injury this is and give any advice for how to recover and avoid further injury?
Cheers.

Fro what you are describing, you injury is a soft tissue injury. You will experience pain for the first 48-72 hours. You will need to apply ice for 20mins for every 2hour. Best bet is to go see a GP in getting some perscribed anti inflammitries. after 72 hours (3days) start applying heat.

You should be right if still in pain after 5 days go back to your GP
