28 November 2007
The XXXX GOLD Queensland Bulls injury woes have continued with Test batsman Matthew Hayden today ruled out of Friday’s Pura Cup match against the Southern Redbacks at the Gabba.
Cricket Australia medical staff advised that Hayden should step down from the four-day game due to on-going treatment and rehabilitation for tendonitis in his knee.
A decision on his availability for next Wednesday’s Ford Ranger Cup match against the Redbacks will be made early next week.
Queensland will name a replacement for Hayden tomorrow once the team line-up is finalised following training.
Andrew Symonds (ankle), Ashley Noffke (hamstring) and James Hopes (hamstring) will all have to be passed fit to play in the match starting on Friday.
