Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum, but I had some questions about SCENAR I was hoping someone could answer.
I recently tore my right-knee ACL in a snowboarding accident, and am scheduled for surgery to repair it on the ninth of April, 2008. So very soon, in other words. My friend was telling me about the wonders of SCENAR and I was wondering if it would be as effective (if at all) on an injury such as an ACL tear. I'm sure it would stop pain and such, but would it actually repair the damage?
I am 21 years old and very active, and the surgery due next week would force me to drastically drop my activity level over the summer. No wakeboarding, hiking, running, etc. My snow season has already been cut short (admittedly by only a month, but it still sucks!) and I was hoping to find out more about this before I go under the knife.
Also, what would the recovery time be, if such a repair is possible with the system? With surgery, recovery is close to six months. :,(

Thanks in advance for any replies! And I am also undergoing another surgery in May to tighten up my shoulder from an old dislocation injury. Would SCENAR take care of that too?

If you have a structural problem like you have I think you really need to get it surgically repaired.

Even though the recovery is long I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.

Good luck !!!

Thanks for the reply! I have decided to go forward with the surgery, as my ACL is completely torn. However, some people told me that the recovery time would be drastically reduced if I used SCENAR for post-operative therapy. Now I just have to decide between hamstring or patella graft...

Would SCENAR tighten up my shoulder though? Nothing is torn, I have simply dislocated it several times and it is easy for it to pop out now. The surgery surgery would be a scope to reduce my range of motion a bit.

Also, how much do the SCENAR therapists charge for the service? Does insurance cover it? Thanks a ton!
