There seems to be a lot of cancer around in young elite athletes. Stephen Larkham has a malignant melanoma, Adam Ramanauskas had a rare glandular cancer in his neck and Michael Vella has a thyroid cancer. These guys obviously get a lot of radiation because of all the scans they have, can this have something to do with it?

As for the government policy that funds CT scans for sports physicians but not MRI scans - they are asking for more young people to develop cancer from unnecessary radiation.
