hi all! i'm new to this so i'm not sure where to start, so i guess i'll go from the very beginning. i work as a research assistant and sit at the computer all day. needless to say, there's a lot of repetitive motion from clicking on a mouse and typing on a keyboard. i started this job 7 months ago, and after 3 months my right wrist cracked for the first in my life. it felt stiff, sore, and achey. 3 weeks ago i started a martial arts class and we had to do knuckle pushups. in the first class, i didn't really try to do them because i didn't want to injure my already hurting and supposedly weak wrists. but because i wanted to keep up with everyone else, i practiced doing them the following weekend. at first, i was careful. i took my time and made sure my arms were perfectly postured above my wrists. but then after i got the hang of it, i got careless and just did them as fast as i could. as i pushed myself to keep going, my right wrist couldn't take more and cracked and folded. i couldn't do more because it ached. the next week at work, it still ached and i accidentally hit it against a shelf corner. it swelled and turned light purple. after the swelling went down, there was a bony bump where the swollen tissue was. heeding the advice of friends, i've been massaging it, but it's not doing any good. can someone tell me what's happened to my wrist or give me any advice? it looks deformed!

Go to your sports doc and get an xray. The longer you leave it, the more chance it won't get better. Good luck.
