So far the injuryupdate Forum has been getting a lot of hits (views) although not that many people posting messages. I am sure the main barrier to this is registration, in which you must leave at least an email contact address and get a password in order to post a message, or even vote in a poll. This puts me off posting on other sites.

There is a good reason for this. With a public forum like this, you definitely need (for legal reasons) to have some way of contacting a message poster if they write anything defamatory. Obviously an administrator can delete an offensive message from the site, but it is also prudent to email the poster and let them know why this step needed to be taken and warning them to be more careful in future. Obviously people can create and use bogus hotmail addresses if they wish to be completely anonymous, but then the website administrators can at least defend the site as having basic security measures.

If you don't like passwords, get used to it. I already have a password book by my computer with all of my passwords in it (OK if you don't live in a shared house I suppose) as just about every second site you visit will want you to create one. I reckon just go for it and register on this site (if you like it and want to have your say or ask a question on anything).

You may or may not have noticed, but just about every post is getting a personal reply (as there aren't many at this stage). The day will come where this site is much busier and there is no guarantee that you will get individual attention, but at the moment, make use of it while you have the opportunity!

An interesting article about AFL supporter websites, in which it is claimed that Eddie McGuire loves to regularly log in and post. For one million dollars do you think he does it: A. Every day B. Once a week C. Once in his life D. He has never done this at all and the story is bogus.
