hi I have had a knee injury for about 10 years I would like to know of a good knee specialist that does not have a huge waiting list could anyone point me in the right direction ....

also is having an arthrosope covered my medicare ? Im curious to see if theres something i can get done to get my knee back in action..

For surgery without private health insurance, you are looking at a pretty long wait in the public system or coughing up $3000+ cash.

Some knee specialist physios might be able to help and work out if you can survive without surgery, e.g. Kay Crossley, Jill Cook.

Just a note for anybody looking to see Jill Cook or Kay Crossley. I was told today after trying to get in to see both, that Kay is going overseas for 3 months and that Jill is not working in her practice anymore.

Hi Kay,
Not sure if he is what you are looking for but I've just been to see Dr Bruce Reid at the LaTrobe Medical Centre, in Bundoora who referred me onto Dr Julian Feller, a terrific OS who has just done my knee reconstruction. I found them both very professional and knowledgable and made a lot of sense to me... they might be worth a try. So far my experience with both of them has been fantastic.

Dr Reid is the Essendon Footy Club Dr many of the players from my local footy netball club also go to if they have a problem... he seems to be able to diagnose stuff pretty quickly and get it sorted out just as quickly. And I only had to wait a few days to see him. I'd recommend seeing someone like him first and then seeing where that takes you.
