Thought people may be interested in how much traffic this website gets compared to big sites like the AFL and NRL sites.
http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=aflfocus&spg=display&articleid=206578
tells us that the AFL website gets approximately 500,000 visitors weekly compared to about 200,000 on the NRL website.
Injuryupdate gets about 5,000 unique visitors per week, which is about 100th of the traffic of the AFL site, but still pretty respectable.
Incidentally a 'visit' is a lot less than a 'hit'. We broke our record for hits in one day on May 30, with 126101 hits for the 24 hours. However we only had 1044 visits that day. Each visitors therefore averaged 100 hits (that is 100 items were downloaded per visitor on average - remember every image counts as a hit). The reason for the high traffic that day was simple - lots of people looking for the Nathan Brown video. I'm still trying to get a copy!
