Gidday, I,m Jason Cook. I have been reading all the comments on ankle fusion with interest. I am recovering from a fall from a horse where I had a compound dislocation of my ankle. It snapped the ligaments and damaged the cartilage, soft tissue etc.I had 3 operations to fix and clean the ankle as well as a skin graff. My surgeon has told me I will most likely need to have my ankle fused at a later stage.I would like to know if there is anything I should be doing to maybe delay or limit any further problems.Maybe contacts for good physio or doctors in my area that have had experience with this sort of injury? The accident occured on the 8th of May this year.I was in plaster for six weeks, having the skin graff on the fourth week.I am now waiting to go back to my doctor on the 5th July to then start Physiotherapy. I have been told not to put weight on the foot until then. I live in Gatton Qld (only 1 Hour from brisbane and 30 min from Toowoomba) I am prepared to travel to get advice from experts in this field.

Thanks

Jason Cook
