Strained my hamstring, where it goes into the knee at gridiron training 2 weeks ago. Iced it, etc eased into jogging and then running. Have been running at full sprint, changing direction etc for 4-5 days now but felt it tighten up again last night. Have recently started wearing screw-in boots for the first time instead of moulded cleats. Is it possible this could have anything to do with it??

A change of footwear potentially could result in an increase in stress on the hamstring - for instance, if the footwear offer more grip, your leg will be able to push off the ground harder when running without losing friction - this may result in a more forceful hamstring contraction when running and increased likelihood of aggravating an existing injury.
