What is the purpose of the blood test & urinalysis before surgery.

If you have other illnesses, good to check how they are going. If you are otherwise well, it is debatable. Positive = may find some hidden disease you were unaware of that can be treated before you have surgery. Negative = may turn up a false postive that leads to unnecessary worry, and you may drive past your local private golf course the day before the operation and see your pathologist and surgeon having a round together, which might annoy you.
