According to realfooty:

"The AFL is set to investigate an incident midway through the second quarter when Brown allegedly pushed Port's doctor, Peter Barnes. It followed a collision between Brown and Port's Domenic Cassisi. When Barnes tried to shield his player and perform a medical assessment, Brown allegedly pushed and shoved him in what appeared to be an attempt to remonstrate with Cassisi, who went off concussed."

Unfortunately Doc Barnes didn't go A over T like the Lions doc last year in what was one of the funniest injuries of the year.

However, when a doctor gets involved in a scuffle between two players, is he suddenly fair game?

Interesting one this one. The players had a potentially nasty head clash, but both players seemed to be of the opinion that the other had struck them. The Port doctor was there when Cassissi came over to Brown who was still on his knees and quite groggy. The Port doctor made no attempt to intersperse himself between the two players while the Port player was the agressor, but went to great pains to intersperse himself between the two players when Brown got up to have a go at Cassissi. Brown appeared to be the worse for wear - where was the Melbourne doctor?
