Hello Everyone
Two weeks ago,I was told that I had tietze syndrome.I got a opinion from two doctors, the first one told me that I would be right with pain killers and the other doctor told me that tietze was just something a doctor will tell you because because they have no idea what really is wrong/I was told to have two weeks off work-I work as a aged care assistant nurse, and a mother to two small children/.The pain killers haven't really touched me and my heat packs that usually help don't much anymore-until I saw this web site I thought I was mad.Does any body know what else to try,I am desperate-work thinks badly of me and I can't change my very busy life because I pay out big for medical, due to one of my children having a few disabilities?????

Do you have an injury? Would be surprising to have chronic rib pain without some trauma (unless you have done lots of rowing).

Probably worth trying a cortisone injection to the sore spot. May not work, but very little downside.

I don't have a sports injury But I do have a bad back and had alot of discs pop out a few years ago & have bad curve in my spine. Also the manual handling that I do for my job would not help it either.

Tietze syndrome is not very enlightening as a diagnosis. Could be referred pain from the back or you may have 'popped' a rib cartilage due to repetitive lifting at work.

Again I would try local anti-inflam treatment as a starting point (gel then cortisone).
