View Full Version : Not happy Jan - Yellow Pages is a disgrace

I work in 2 sports medicine practices and even take out ads in the Yellow Pages for them, because this directory has pretty much a monopoly on the telephone search market.

However, I am still listed as working in a practice that I stopped working at 9 years ago. I have done everything possible to remove this listing. I have called up every year for the last 9 years asking to be removed from the directory at this address. I have written many times over this period as well. No one has ever replied to the letters or acknowledged receipt.

Every time I speak on the phone I am lied to and told the directory listing will be removed next year. It is still in the following year every year.

I hate how call centres work. The managers will never speak to you and the suckers who answer the phone are under instructions to just get rid of the caller with whatever means possible (including lying).

I called twice a month ago and two weeks ago trying to get rid of this outdated listing for next year and both times was told "it had been done and the listing won't appear in the next Yellow Pages", and to check the online listing in a few weeks to confirm it was gone.

I have just checked today, the listing for the old practice was still there. I called Yellow Pages again today and went ballistic and they told me I had "missed the deadline to change the print edition for next year by a few days". I told them I didn't miss the deadline, that I was assured it was fixed before the deadline and the lying backpackers who spoke to me and who are probably already on the Barrier Reef said it would be done. Of course the bastards I spoke to today have no recollection of who it would have been who I spoke to last and they won't give out their names.

Yellow Pages - You Suck. I wish you no longer had a monopoly on this service so that your crap levels of non-service would mean that everyone brushed your company.

On the other hand I am depressed because my bank, which has competitors, is equally as bad every time I call them, and all of their competitors (many of whom I have used) are just as bad.

I think the Devil is alive and well in modern times and, apart from funding Al Queda, is running call centres.

For those who call me at the wrong clinic because of Yellow Pages, I apologise, it isn't my fault.

Settle down dude! You don't want to blow a berry aneurysm of something over this! After your entries this morning I reckon you should pop some valium and prozac and have a nap or something...

Well at least you haven't had to deal with the Dell call centre. It's somewhere in south-east Asia, and has set the benchmark in incompetence, inefficiency and frustrating lies. Grr.

But I agree with hhh. Take a chill pill or whatever relaxes you ;-)

There's always the white pages.
