    Default Gluteus Maximus Injury (help)

Hi i am just posting for the first time as a last ditch effort to get back on the field for this coming season, In my opinion i injured my gluteus or bum muscle in a game of football early last season 8 months ago. It was not a really painful thing it just came on as the match went on and was really deep and dull, But by the next morning it was about a 6 on the pain table and i was struggling with mobility eg. bending over, tying my shoes. i gave it 3 weeks or so rest and stretching and played another game same thing. So i visited the physios who told me it was a high hamstring strain or bursitis so i did the rehab for that and gave it a month or so without it ever really feeling any beta still just a dull pain deep in the buttock, and played again with the same result, I went back to the physio and he referred me to a doctor for an ultrasonic scan. The scan revealed no tears to the hamstring, gluteus or bursitis, so instead of cortisone he injected blood into the high part of my hamstring and into the part of my gluteus maximus that as far as i can tell seems to be the problem area, he said give it a month or so and you should be ok! well its 2 months later and i have just played a game of indoor soccer and same thing. (The injury itself does not seem to limit my power when running i can go hard without much pain its just later on after the game and up to 2-3 days later that you really feel the pain) So I am hoping somebody here may have had this problem before and could tell me what to try next or how they overcame it cheers

I am not a soccer player but I am fan of it. And I really like your passion towards your game. Keep it up. But if you still have pain then I suggest you to meet orthopaedic doctor or try some yoga and special exercise for it. Because that may be because you have muscle pain which can be removed by yoga, regular exercise, physiotherapy or acupuncture. There are also many products like footwear available in market which works on your points and help you to get rid from your pain. You can try any option suitable to you.
