    Default tennis elbow

H i have a diagnosed case of tennis elbow it started when i banged my elbow on the weighs bench i am taking celebrex at the moment i have tried icing heat alternating heat, and cold i have done all the stretches i have tried tens, and i have tried a topical anti inflamitory ointment.

It has improved, and i feel very little pain but i am at a loss as to how i can get it to completely heal so i can resume physical activity. I have just bought something called a go strap but i am yet to feel any improvement does anyone know how to get this injury to heel completely.

I have something similar, but called a golfers elbow. My elbow hurts on the inside, on the bony bump. I am wearing a silicon elbow support when exercising, except for swimming, I have stopped all together weight training and any other grip contact sport such as tennis. I hope good rest will allow the elbow to repair. Has anyone got any better advise than this.

    ganja77,
Massaging the wad of muscles from the elbow to the mid forearm can help a lot. The problem with this type of injury is that we are prehensile (use our hands) animals and therefore never rest the injured tissues for a decent period. Ice after using it a lot too. good luck

An article in the New York Times reported on a study that said a simple new exercise has been found to be extremely effective against both acute and chronic tennis elbow. You need a piece of exercise equipment called a flexbar. I don't know where you can get one in Australia but they are made by Theraband who provide physios with products. You might be able to google to find one.
There are written and video instructions at this site: www.flexbar.info.
To treat golfers elbow you need to do a different version of the exercise. Google "reverse tyler twist" and you should find the golfers elbow version.

    Hi guys,

I would recommend seeing a physiotherapist for appropriate treatment and correction of any factors which are contributing to your condition. In the mean time, check out the following links for detailed information on these conditions including treatment:

    Tennis Elbow
    Golfers Elbow

Hope that helps and good luck,

Have you tried a treatment called ART (active release technique) www.activerelease.com
From your information provided you have pretty much addressed only the signs and symptoms of tennis elbow i.e. pain, tightness, stiffness, inflammation.
Addressing any scar tissue built up as a result of the original injury is also important.
