Hello Everyone,
Ok I will try to make this as short as possible. I have been dealing with this problem for about 7-8 yrs. Had 1st surgery May 09 to release IT band...still in pain but band not popping off anymore. Had 2nd surgery August 09 & they released hip capsule it was 4x's thicker than normal??...still in pain 2nd surgery did not see any improvement, except now I have a dead spot on side of my leg above knee. I had the MRA (the one where dye is injected)they could not get it into the joint the dye pooled at the iliopsoas, so it was not as good of a picture as they wanted but it was read as possible tear, & possible impingement due to some type of bump. I have almost every symptom..tremendous pain that rarely lets up, the snapping, catching feeling almost as if I need to make it pop, & clicking have been going on forever & the Dr's have now heard this themselves. I am now scheduled to have surgery April 7 th for the possible labral tear, & possible impingement. I am 32 yrs old and extremely nervous to go back in for the 3rd time, but I want out of pain so I will almost do anything. I was wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone else, has anyone had the dye test & still not get a definite diagnosis?? Or would the dye test positively show the labral tears?? Any feedback would be helpful as I am not sure if I shpuld go thru with another surgery.
Thanks,
Melissa
Sounds like youve get FAI! Is the bump on the femoral neck (CAM deformity)?.
