hi all,
i am wondering if anyone has had hip arthrocpoy for treatment of full thicckness cartilage defects. I have already had one failed arthroscopy for a labral tear- however the surgeon did not treat my underlying FAI and i have continued to get pain over the past 2-3 years when doing most high impact acitivities, like soccer tennis and even running now-which i had to give them all up. More recently i really aggrevated it alot 2 months ago when i went fishing in my boat and i have had been persevering with pain since. It is taking very long this time to settle down, unlike other times, and it is really frustrating as i cant do much except get through the day at work- which does involve quite a bit of walking anyway- which is good in one way. i am considering to go and see john odonnell in melbourne, who has very good reports about performing arthroscopies, to see if he can do anything whether it be treat my FAI and also fix my absent cartilage- as i have heard about MICROFRACTURE techniques which grow new cartilage to some extent. has anyone had microfracture on the hip or full thickness cartilage defects and what have you done about.
cheers!
