    Thumbs down Plantar Fasciitis

I couldn't believe when I looked back into the achieves I couldn't find a thread on this and thought after having this condition for 6 months I would start one up even though I will more than likely not get used that often.

I got this Late November after having Shin splints and ITBS in 08 -09 as well as OP 2006 - now (I just define it as chronic groin soreness now as the worst of it is over).

Things were going great with my Plantar Fasciitis (I called walk with no pain while wearing othotics) until the start of June (this month) when I was trying to make a comeback to footy as the worst of OP was over and I needed to get running again. As I said my Plantar Fasciitis was progressing well but I was rushing it, I did some exercises I had never done before to attempt to strenghen it in a short amount of time and stuffed it big time. I now feel I am back to where I was In late Novemver - early December as I have had the same pain for 1 - 2 weeks and when I fee it starts to improve I get that tear feeling again and that sets me back (as I got that tear feeling on Monday)

Been taking Glucosamine and Chodriton to fix things again as well as ice. I feel I need to wait another week or 2 before I start rolling it again and this will need to be gentle rolling compared to last month where I was able to massage it hard on the roller and feel good.

Anyway anyone who has had this share your thoughts in here

I have it too atm - stood on a hockey ball whilst running - it is better and I have played 1 game of hockey about 4 weeks post injury.

My only symptom has been a spot on the top of my foot about the size of a thumb nail that kills - no bruising, a little swelling the first week.

Have you tried having a massuer into it? My massage therapist gave my foot a good going over last week - I didn't think the underside of my foot was an issue at all - and then she hit it and it was like wow - there is a problem there - afterwards, at first I thought OMG that was a bad move, but its heaps better now.

that was a week ago and that one massage has done better than 4 weeks of physio I think

Anyway - onward ho - have to be ready for Vets hockey in Coffs Harbour in 3 weeks time

    good luck

    Liz

Yeah In March I got a really hard massage on it, the bloke used this hard crystal on both feet and it was well bruising for 2 weeks but was effective.

I now use Superbalm and massage it in once a day myself but I feel I need a full lower body massage as I have other injuries as well as the plantar fasciitis.
