Hi All,

This is my first post. I have been told i need a c4/5 spinal fusion and have been seeing Dr Farey and also another doctor in the public system. One of my doctors (not Dr Farey) told me that without the operation i would have a 100-1 chance of becomming a quadreplic and with the surgery i would have a 1-100 of becomming one (obviously i dont want to be one!!). I have had this injury for the past year and Dr Farey first didnt want to operate as he was hoping that it would fix its self however after my most recent meeting with him he advised the best thing i could do was have a spinal fusion. I am so worried about the thought of surgery and the outcomes of it yet i know i have to have it done. So i have the following questions:

1) Has anyone been operated on by Dr Farey and what were your thoughts.
2) Has anyone had a c4/5 spinal fusion done before and what was the outcome.
3) What is a realestic timeframe for recovery from the operation.

I am a 29 year old female, non-smoker, but i love a wine. I am not over weight and have no other health problems. Any responses will be great!
