Sarasbadhip i know how you feel and that your not progressing, I'm not much better myself to be honest. I do my 3 sets of 10 reps of the basic exercises i got in hospital, and do perhaps 20 mins throughout the day on the bike or walking around, or even a few staps on the wii, and i'm done in!! Just daily living is hardwork and it's exhausting me. I'm even too worn out to make jewellery most days, as we all need feeding and clothing, so i have to struggle through some chores. But we just have to remember to do little and often and each time it will get a little easier, and we will last a little longer. Healing thoughts everyone xx

Hang in there Sara! I promise it will get better. Even if it is slow. Hopefully you are able to do things that keep your mind off the pain and keep sane. Have you returned to work? Or have some sort of schedule? I know that always helps with me.

For me, things are very difficult these days. I had no choice but to go back to school at 6 weeks post-op and have had to do approx. 12 hour days each day. This is extremely tough since I feel like I should be at home resting still. I've sucked it up, but functioning past a couple hours really takes a toll on the mind and body. To add insult to injury, I've developed a stomach bug. At least the day home has done the hip good.

I have my follow-up next Monday and it will be interesting to see what the doctor says. I still can't flex past 90* and my other hip now has groin pain. I know I am paranoid since Ive had unsuccessful surgeries in the past, but man alive, to get groin pain and an ache on that side which very well may be compensation, is concerning considering I have had that labrum debrided 3.5 years ago. How long can one live without a labrum? This is something that I'll ask about at my next appointment.

Been extremely naughty this week, i haven't done any physio at all as i've been walking around the bungalow with one crutch, so this is working the leg and hip far more than me doing tiny physio exercises. So i justify it as this has strengthened the leg and increased the stamina. So I hope this is ok as the pain hasn't increased with the extra pressure, as it could of. And my appointment is only a few weeks away now, so hoping i can rock his socks off by walking in well xx

I've been doing the same thing. I am walking around so incredibly much that I don't have time, energy, or strength to do many exercises. Although I do make sure that I do 20 minutes of circumduction each day...it keeps it mobile and looser.

    HOw are you feeling lately??

I have obviously bitten off more than i can chew, My knee has swollen up and flare up badly, and i can barely walk with 2 crutches, so gone back to 2 and resting up totally in the hope it will settle down. It's swelled up an inch bigger, and as soon as i walk the pain is unreal. So if a few days of resting don't work i will ring the Consultant and seek his advice, thankfully my x-ray is soon and i have a Physio appointment in the Rheumatology department to see if they can help with the shoulders that keep popping out of joint and crunching.

Sara and Debbie, hang in there! These surgeries are certainly long, drawn out processes that will, hopefully, allow us to gain function. There seems to be hills and valleys, and hopefully you both start to improve. Even if it is slowly. I've been thinking of you. Make sure that you make sure that you get lots of rest, while at the same time keep moving. It is so hard as, often times, it hurts to move, yet if you don't move you can form scar tissue which can cause pain. Vicious cycle. Anywho, thinking of you both! Sending happy healing hip thoughts your way!!!!!!

I needed those few days back on 2 crutches to recover the knee, but i'm back at it again on the one. Hopefully it will be official soon anyways, as i have my x-ray in 2 days time. Fingers crossed he will say it's healed enough and i can put more weight through the joint and walk with one crutch officially. I do try to run before i can walk, but i am driven by pain in the shoulders caused by the crutches, so to rest the shoulder i ditched one. But thankfully i now have a EDS Hypermobility trained Doctor and Physiotherapist who has said that although only surgery would cure it, i can at least alleviate the symptoms by strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joint to hopefully hold it more in place. Stop the popping out when i brush my hair and put jumpers on, i wonder if this is happening with my knee? I will know more once i get to chat on Tuesday when i see the surgeon.
