Hot Chickie, I will be on crutches too well at least one all over summer, and in the time frame between Oct - Dec I'll be a surgery buddy with you again hun, It's a long old road and certainly bumpy and frustrating and less than ideal but it should be a short term horror for a long term reward, so i'm in it for the long haul and going to see it through. I was functioning in the slightest beforehand, so at least i have a massive improvement from that, pain levels are still higher than i would of liked, but surgeon was frank and honest and basically said it is a massive trauma for your body to deal with and is natural that the body would take years to recover and try to get back to it's former feeling.

Healing hugs to everyone, thinking of you all each day even if i dont post much. It's only because physio and hydro are kicking my ass so much that i'm going to bed super early and napping a lot too x

    HC,

How did you surgery go on Saturday? Hoping you are not in too much pain. I am sorry you arent going to be graduating with your friends, I know how tough my own daughter would find that, but your long term health has to be your first concern and you couldnt go on the way things were. I hope soooo much that this surgery helps your left side, and it feels much better once the scar tissue has been removed so you can also get the right side sorted and get back to school.
Big hugs to you hun and now you have a plan in place, I hope you salvage some of the summer and manage to get some fun times inbetween the surgeries and recoveries.

    Debs,

Keep up with the physio, I know you are shattered and finding it tough but it will be worth it in the end. Same for you Sara, its tough to have to face another surgery, but you have known pretty early on that things werent right, so its better to face it now and address the problem rather than be fobbed off to give it more time and see if things improve. As we have all found out, its pretty common to need several surgeries on each hip before things get finally fixed. If I had known at the start of my hip journey that I would need 6 surgeries it would have scared me to death, but by facing each on at a time, you get through it, become a stronger person, and eventually it all becomes worthwhile.

Hey! Yeah, surgery went well. Had a lot done but I can already fully flex my hip which I haven't done in years! I had a capsular plication, allograft from a cadaver tendon placed overtop of my existing graft of a labrum from IT band, synovectomy, rim trimming, ligamentum teres debridement, and adhesion lysis. It really has made a difference and am happy that I did it. Now he wants to do the other side in 6 weeks! Phew, he thinks it will be good since right now I don't have a good leg. But overall, I'm super happy that I did the left side as I have some relief (just dealing with surgical pain right at the moment). Nothing I can't handle.

Hang in there everybody! Hopefully one day it will end for us!!!

I am so glad that the surgery went well HC and that you have some relief. It is a long journey which most of us on here have undertaken but it really sounds like you are getting there. I totally understand the need to take a break from your studies until you are fully mobile and pain free - I would have done exactly the same.

I hope your recovery continues to go well.

    xx

Really stepped up my physio exercising and daily activities, as i am determined to get over the whole hip saga. Been gently looking for jobs as well that could accommodate my hips somewhat, but no luck so far. To be honest there are no jobs for fully able people let alone me, but it's nice to be able to look and prepare for the worse, as Atos is getting more and more extreme. I see the NHS is slowly being sold off and privatised which makes me ever so grateful i have had the bulk of my hip surgeries done already.

I have my sights set on snowdon, then nevis x

Hope HC and Sara you are alright, Good luck with your surgery Sara and HC so glad you are feeling relief from yours already, good luck with the other side one too <3 :-)
