Hi, I was thrown off my bike November 8th 2011. I landed completely on my left shoulder.
My questions are when will it fully recover and when will this lump go down? Also when will I be able to workout with 20lbs dumbells?
I did the same thing. I came of my bike and my left shoulder took the brunt of things. I've got a grade 1 ac separation. From what I'm told if it still hurts it means there's still inflammation. i'm icing 3 times a day and using voltarin 3 times a day and it's helping a great deal. I'm told grade 1s and 2s probably hurt more because the nerve endings are still in tact so they sense pain more. Rest, gentle movements will help in my experience, things like shoulder positioning exercises, and pendulum swings.
You just have to take it easy and it should settle it down in a few weeks. If it doesn't then I'd go and see a sports physio for prescription of rehab exercises.
