So I just had surgery yesterday morning. It hurts way worse than I expected! A little history: march 2011 I had a very mean boyfriend who stomped on my right hand. In April, I started seeking treatment and two docs told me it was all in my head, or it was a mystery and I should just live with it. Finally found a doc who listened and knew in 5 minutes what was wrong with me. He diagnosed me with right hand ring finger tenosynovitis, right wrist instability. Had surgery on September 28, 2011. At 6 weeks post-op, started hand therapy 2x week. Had a hard time using that ring finger, the tendon was so tight. Used night splint, and a spring loaded apparatus up to four hours a day. Got almost 25 degree bend in the wrist.
Went back to hand doc for check up, he noticed had a lot of popping, clicking and pain in my wrist still. Had an MRI in January 2012, which showed a TFCC tear, a ganglion cyst, and the pisiform bone floating completely free. Had another surgery yesterday morning to repair TFCC, and to remove cyst and pisiform bone. I woke up after surgery with half cast wrapped with ace bandages loosely on arm up to my elbow. I am experiencing such intense pain. What can I expect in the healing process? Post op appointment is set for one week. I am freaked a little. It hurts just thinking about my wrist twisting!!!! I was told if it doesn't heal right I'm looking at another surgery. Anyone have something similar?
