I was hoping somebdy on here could help me with my year long struggle with a knee injury.
I went on a long cycling trip last summer, having done very little preparation beforehand. I ignored a strong, dull pain in my knee under my knee cap (wasnt stopping movement of cycling, just a very strong ache) for a few days before I stopped and went home early.
The problem appears to be under my kneecap. When cycling or doing leg weights there is a dull ache under my kneecap, which is not present any other time. After i cycle or do leg weights, then the dull ache pain under my kneecap continues for a few days then subsides. I can run with no pain ,but will get the same dull ache pain after I finish exercise which can come on straight away or take up to 24 hours to show its head.
Also, since the cycling trip my knee was making loud crunching noises which were not there before.
I have had physio, anti inflammatories and MRI scans for nearly a year now. Drs, physios and apparent knee specialists have no idea what is wrong with my knee. One even said that it was a mental problem! All the MRI scans have returned with apparently no signs of anything wrong. However after working out this morning I can very much feel the pain in my knees!!
Has anyone on here had the same problem, or know what is wrong with me and how I can return to training?
