    Hi Emma,

Randall Cooper at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre is great with knees. The number for Olympic Park is 9427 0366.

He's involved with Hawthorn Football club and also the aerial skiiers.

I see Randall for my knee rehab after having knee surgery with Julian Feller.

    Good luck !

    Hi KJ,
Thanks for the reply, what is your OS like? any good, I see Andrew McQueen, at the Melbourne Ortho Group in Prahan. The cortisone injection I had last week has made no difference. Oh well, didnt think it would. Have another week of wait & see, might settle down yet. fingers crossed. See what OS says, might get second opinion. Emma

    Hi Emma,

My OS is fantastic. I've been seeing him for over 10 years due to patella instability. He also operates on a lot of the Collingwood and Essendon players. Also operated on Alisa Camplin. So, he knows his stuff. He's also very conservative, which I really like. Think there are a lot of OS's out there that would operate straight away. Before I had patella realignment surgery I had physio for about a year. Definitely worth getting a second opinion from him.

What is wrong with your knee ?

Also, have you thought about seeing a good sports physician ? I've been seeing a sports physician for about 5 years and has made a real difference. Both my sports physicians have a good relationship with the surgeon. Just makes it so much easier if I have a problem with my rehab etc. I see Chris Bradshaw and Andrew Jowett at Olympic Park. They are both very good.

Good luck and let us know how you go.

    Hi kj,
i have had a lateral release, and chrondroplasty, last year, just recently well about 8 weeks, have had pain,(sharp, shooting) with catching, PT wasnt concerned, went to OS he said it was an articular cartilage tear medial side, gave me cortisone, and to call in two weeks if no improvement, said he doesnt real want to go back in again, then have MRI. so i guess will wait and see.

You must be frustrated at the moment. At one stage a physio I used to see said that my OS couldn't do anything more after some complications after the lateral release on my left knee. One of my Mum's friends that's a physio suggested I go back to the OS. He could do something and ended having more surgery on my left knee which made a huge difference. Think you were wise to go back and see your OS.

Last week my sports physician also suggested using synvisc. I may give it a go if my knee doesn't settle down.

    Good luck !
