    Default Gaelic football research

I'm a PhD student in sports science and I'm conducting research on injuries in Gaelic Football, (Ireland's national game, similar to Australian Rules, but not as exciting, except of course when we play in the compromise rules matches!), and plan to complete an audit of all injuries sustained by players over one season.

I'm hoping to record the exposure time and the type of injury sustained by players during a full season. Injury data will be obtained from results submitted on weekly activity report forms and injury report forms. Unfortunately there has been very little research published on injuries in Gaelic football and I'm relying on studies published on other football codes. As you have vast experience in this type of research, I was wondering if you had any advice /tips for me for my research?

There is at least one article on Gaelic football research, at:

I would encourage downloading the AFL injury reports and trying to use similar methodology if possible. This is time consuming. Eventually it would be great for a formal study that was funded to come from this code of football.
