Default Exercises before going in for an ACL Reco

    Hi all,

What are the best exercises to do before going in of an ACL reco? What is the best ways to prepare? Just strengthen the quads?

I have 3 months overseas before I go in, so im not sure what ill have access to but im pretty sure there will be a gym.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks,

    Belinda

    Hi Belinda,

If I was you I'd go and see a good knee physio.

It's important to strengthen your glute muscles, hamstrings, quads, calves and hips.

I see Randall Cooper at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre. Barry Gavin at Hawthorn Physio and Reservoir Physio Clinic is fantastic too. Let me know if you want their contact details.

    Good luck !

yeah definitely see a good physio

Practice your co-contractions too before the surgery just so you have a good grasp of it.

Cycling is good and gym work all without pain i suppose.

The better condition your in before surgery the better you will come out of it.

    good luck with your op.
