broken ankle: casting or surgery?

I broke my ankle week ago walking on ice. The disagnosis is ankle lateral malleolus fracture with minimal displacement. The doctors argue and counter-argue over this displacemement. Some say it requires a surgery and some say that casting would suffice. My ankle is currently casted.
Background details: Male, 39 years old, no previous injuries and no interest in doing sport intensively.
wht would yourecommend: continue with the castin or do the surgery? I append my X-Ray scans.

if the fracture is low in the leg I would have the surgery, at least from my experience.
