Waiting Times in Melbourne

Hi Everybody,

I'm going for an MRI tomorrow morning. I'm pretty sure my Mensiscus cartilege on the inner left knee is torn and hopefully theres no other ACL etc.. damage.

Could anyone give me an idea of how long I'd have to wait for surgery for this?

PS. I have no medical insurance and am depending on the recipricol healthcare agreement from my home country as I am here for a 1 year holiday visa.

Hi there,

I think it largely depends on the hospital. The Austin Hospital in Melbourne has some top knee surgeons working there.

It may pay to get it done privately. The cost may not be too bad if it's a day case.
