I have been jumping from different forums and trying to find the sequence of events in general for diagnosing the tear vs. the root cause of it. I also notice that often the MRI doesn't reveal much.

If you have an impingement, how is that diagnosed. Is that from the MRI, symptoms, both or you don't know until you get scoped? I'd really like to know the total condition of my hip but get the impression that the MRI doesn't do that.
