Anyone know Dr. Bradley Seeto? I just got refered to him, just wondering if anyone got any knee surgery done with him? Is he good?
Hi - we've just had an operation for a fractured patella which suposedly went well, but recovery is taking very long, as there is still little bend in the knee.
He is suggesting a knee manipulation (bending the knee under anaesthetic), but the risk is the patella breaks again (even thought there is signs that it's healing).
I wonder what your experience has been with Dr S, and if things have gone well.
Thanks -
Hi there,
I would be getting another opinion for a surgeon that specialises in patella problems.
Leo Pinczewski and Justin Roe specialise in knees in Sydney and are meant to be very good. They have operated on elite athletes too.
Good luck !!!
An old post but a good one. My surgeon was Craig Waller and Leo did a mate of mine.
Hope this helps.

This is by no means meant to be an exhaustive list, but a guide to some of the specialists who see exclusively or mainly sports knee problems in Sydney. This list could admittedly go on for a lot longer, as the knee is a very popular area for surgery and most surgeons who operate anywhere will have a go at the knee if given a chance.
Knee surgeons:
Merv Cross, 286 Pacific Hwy Crows Nest, 94375999
Tim Musgrove, 111 Anzac Pde Kensington, 94375999
Leo Pinczewski, 286 Pacific Hwy Crows Nest, 94375999
David Wood, 286 Pacific Hwy Crows Nest, 94375999
Sam Sorrenti, 286 Pacific Hwy Crows Nest, 94375999
Craig Waller, 160 Belmore Rd Randwick, 93995333
David Dickison, 165 Old Northern Rd Castle Hill, 96801315
Brett Courtenay, St. Vincent’s Clinic, 93326924
Neville Rowden, *02 9580 6066*
Myles Coolican, *02 9904 6099*
If anyone knows of others who are experts in knee injuries in Sydney, please add to the list (or start another thread if you know of others in a different state).

ACL Recon LeFt KnEe using hAmStRiNg GrAft (23.04.07)
Dr Seeto did my ACL - friendly guy - very professional - his whole practice specialises in only knee surgery (hence the name - Sydney Knee Specialists). I am back to Oztag and knee feels great. Hope this helps.
HAs anyone actually travelled interstate to seek surgeons in Sydney and if so, who and what was their experience in that. Im traveling to sydney tomorrow to see both Justin Roe and Merv Cross to get opinion. Being in Darwin, might as well see who i can while there and then iv covered most avenues in the one trip. Bit scary traveling on own. No dramas to airports but when its outside, well a diferent kettle of fish. got 4days to kill with about hour worth of consults and thats it! Hopefully room service and foxel has something interesting on.
Hey Dede,
'Meant to say in my previous posts (in the Melbourne knee specialists thread) your middle of the day appointments at NSOSMC are the best time of the day for making that trip (less traffic!).
'Sorry if I'm telling you to suck eggs, but don't forget to take all your previous scans, reports etc and to get there 10 minutes early to fill out forms (maybe more if that bandaged finger is slowing your writing down!)
If you get the chance, at least get down to Circular Quay and the Opera House to have a look around and maybe take a ferry across to Manly ("God's country" as we northern beaches residents like to refer to it!) - 30 mins each way in the ferry or 15 mins each way in the Jet Cat (the harbour is what makes Sydney).
As I said before - hope it all goes well - new things and places can seem scary - but once you've done it you wonder why you were ever worried!
Cheers,
JB
Cheers. Im sure it will be all gd. I had posts removed from the Melb threat- didnt like my opinion in the last 48hrs so thort better skip over to the APPROPRIATE one. Yeah got my last scan, xray and last op report. Its all gd. Apparently AIrbus dnt go to my suburb! WHat the hell.... oh well, taxi might just have to do. I cld catch train but cldnt be blowed with lugging laptop, camera, case and backpack that far!!
Keep u posted on how it turns out.
Hey Dede,
The airport shuttle details I gave you previously were just for the North Shore (Crows Nest) area (because Sydney is so large there are different companies running shuttles in different areas). Try Googling Sydney airport to Sydney CBD shuttle buses or, at the airport go to the shuttle bus area - there are usually regular shuttles to various hotels/stops in central Sydney (Googling and booking prior so you know someone will be there is probably the better option). Otherwise a cab is a good option. Not sure if you could get a train out to the Potts Point area.
Have a good trip.
Cheers,
JB
Well, back home after an eventful trip to Sydney. Got shuttle bus direct to hotel. Cheap as! like $22 return! Saw Justin Roe- he basically said i had to live with it and that more surgery will just weaken the leg even more. I was disappointed with that but had Merv Cross the next day. I was kinda looking on idea of being a cripple for the rest of my life and tht no1 wld believe my knee is as bad as i say. Well, walked into Merv Cross's rm, he looked at my leg, did all the tests, looked at my scans, looked at leg again- diagnosis is: wait for it.......... i need my 3rd knee reconstruction and a patella realignment surgery. OK.Now this is where i got really frustrated cos i got told the day b4 i shouldnt allow others to touch my knee unless diabolical trauma occurs and then im told this!!!!!!! I was so angry. ROE also said that according to scans, my surgeon who did last scope infact bulls%^&* on the report and couldnt have done what he said- there isnt any evidence on scan that my meniscus was repaired/trimmed and some other stuff. NOw i dont think surgeons wld go that far and call another a liar! But..... hey u get that. So, im booked in on October the 16th (tentative date) for surgery. Just waiting for workcover to officially approve it. Verbally yes, paperwork not yet. I see him on the 13th for follow up and discuss the procedure. He said its going to be a huge operation because the 'tunnels' from the ACL grafts have widened dramatically. Also to do a 3rd revision is extremely difficult but to throw in a realignment in the mix too, adds even more stress. I will be in hospital for over a wk (dreading the pain- 1st recon is ok but to have both will be AGHHHHHHH), prob go to a rehab hospital until check up with him post op and until i can fly back to Darwin. Its going to be a very difficult and painful flight home. Im nt sure as to how it will ocur yet!! Maybe have to get 2 seats. I wil have to ring airlines and see what kind of arrangemnts can be made. After this last trip home ( i collapsed 15mins into flight with stomach cramps and ended up escorted off plane on touchdwn by ambo's) i really dread the trips to come. But, atleast i now have an answer, can focus on my rehab exercises given to me by Cross to do to regain some quad strength and then just go thru the motions of the 3rd recon etc. Ive had the recon and alignment done previously- just not done together. Any1 ever had the double whammy at same time????? Keep you posted.
Cheers
