    Default Advice please

Hi everone - hope you can help me. I'm Brisbane based & have a genetic laxity of both shoulders & now there telling me my hips as well. I've had surgery on both shoulders, hopefully I won't have to on my hips.

I see an OS tomorrow - Dr Donnelly - has anyone herad of him? Good?

From what my shoulder OS & hip physio have hold me, my hips pop out the front & most likely i have torn the labrum & that is what is causing the pain. Does this mean surgery or can it be fixed with physio? Aparently i've had it for a long time - but now it is just getting worse.

I know i should wait till tomorrow, but i think i need to prepare myself if everyone says surgery - i've already been under 4 times this year!

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers
    Mary

    Hi

Just wondering how you got on seeing your consultant, do you need surgey.

I have a friend that i work with that has the same sort of problem with her shoulders she has just had an operation to try to fix it.

Did you doctor say how you developed this condition, is it re: the position you were in the womb. I ask this as i have hip dysplasia and my consultant believes its down to positioning in the womb.

Sorry i dont know any consultants in australia as im in rainy england.

But i do hope you are well. keep us posted

    Hi,
I saw the OS on Thursday & my hips have arthritic nodules on it that has most likely caused labrum tears because my hips are also unstable.

I'm having n MRI on them in June, but from just seein g the xrays he has told me my only option is surgery. Depending on the extent of the arthritis & labrum tears, he will make a decisions whether it can be achieved by keyhole or have to go in open. This is all dependant on the MRI.

He said to me that for this condition to happen to a 23 year old & be in both hips is extremly uncommon - but it is genetic.

Will keep you posted on how the MRI goes.

    Mary
