Default Anyone else feel like hip is dislocated?

I have not yet read anyone with the complaint that it feels like your
hip has moved out of socket. The main reason I am seeing my OS is
because about 3 times last year and now 3 this year already, it feels
like my hip is "dislocated." About a year ago I went to a chiropractor
because I hoped he would put it back. He didn't.

It happens after I do more than usual weight bearing. I wake up with
this 'dislocated' feeling. ROM and strength are dramatically less. It
lasts a few days and gradually I am "normal."

My fear is that one day this will happen again and it will not go back
to normal. I have to use my arms to raise my leg when seated. I have
to use my arms to roll over in bed. My limp is very pronounced. It
    hurts like heck.

I will be talking with my OS but 'in the meantime,' can anyone give me
a clue as to what is going on? I thought it was my OA, then I thought
it might be a labral tear but it's very severe I would think even for
    a tear.

Default Hip moving out of socket

Hi, I get that feeling quite often. I have been x-rayed and had an MRI an arthrogram and the diagnosis at long last is that I have hip dysplasia (which was probably present from birth) which has now also caused a labral tear. I have been told that I have 2 options, either an arthroscopy to repair the labral tear and relieve pain....this however won't dure the real problem which is the dysplaysia. My other option is a peri acetabular osteotomy and I am waiting on a consultants appointment to discuss this.

But yes, I do often feel that my hip is not in its socket properly, if I turn quickly or have had an active day it will suddenly catch and feel like it is stuck. Sometimes the feeling lasts a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes. Otherwise, I am pretty much constantly in pain, especially after walking or standing for a while. Evenings and night times are the worst for pain. If I have a relatively in-active day (which isnt often with 3 kids!) then I may possibly get a pain free day, when I convince myself that it has all mended. The next day however the pain usually comes back again.

Hi Focus, You are referring to the one with 41 pages? I've read parts of it. Is there a particular post that speaks to this feeling?
    thanks

That feeling you are describing tends to be attached to labral problems so yes I could strongly encourage you going thru the posts.
