Has any one had an ankle fusion using a bone block(taken from the illiac crest),Ive already had a fusion in sep 2006 which has failed,my surgeon suspects its because i was a heavy smoker(not had one for over a month),i am having my second fusion this afternoon 6/7/07.i 0nly ask this as the pain in my hip(donor site)was quite bad the first time and have been told it will be a lot more painfull this time because they have to take more bone this time....allthe best Gary
