Hi Group,
I would like to tell people of an issue i have in my hip joint, wondered if i could gain any other info on this, I`m just back from the hospital and there, i seen an orthopedic surgen, i`ve had this for a while, my hip clicks...in and out of joint from side to side (used to on both sides) but for 8-12 months now one side has ceased to do this, instead it is painfull for me most of the time, it aches and it now clicks in a different way, when i raise my right knee point my knee left and lower it, it sounds like a tendant is popping over the ball of my top leg joint within my hip, if i do this though to demonstrate it doesnt hurt much when i do it but afterwards can ache even more.
when i was at the hospital he explained that both hip joins are lax, laxity within both hip joints, however my right hand side has ajusted as if the muscles and tendants are trying to start to keep the joint in place also when looking at my xray`s he also mentioned that the two extentions at either side of my pelvis are growing outwards, to compenstate for the laxity within my hip joint, does anyone here have anything similair or can offer advise on how it may progress or if there are any treatment techniques for this type of condition.
would be great if anyone could help, i`m constantly in pain and on pain killers every day becuase of it.
Regards.
Hi there,
It sounds like you suffer from loose ligaments like I do. Finding the right people to treat you can be really challenging. It took me years to find the right people to treat me. I used to go to a GP but really had no idea how to treat my problems. So, now I see a really good sports physician and has really helped me. I would strongly you encourage you find a good sports physician/doctor that could advise you on the most appropriate treatment. I know of some good sports medicine clinics in Melbourne, Australia and London, UK. Whereabouts are you located ?
Unfortunately I have had quite a few joint instabilities as a result of my loose ligaments. Fortunately for my hips I've been able to avoid having any surgery by doing regular exercise, including going to the gym, hydro pool and doing clinical pilates. I've found clinical pilates to be the most helpful in strengthening the muscles around my hips.
My left hip constantly clicks but I'm ignoring it at the moment as I'm recovering from major shoulder surgery and trying to sort out my knee. Will probably require more surgery on my knee in the future.
Good luck !!
