improvements since laminectomy? Opinions sought

Hi there, Can people who have experienced a laminectomy (particularly l5/s1) plese comment on their progress since the operation. Doesn't mater whether it was 4 weeks ago, 4 months ago or 4 years ago. I've had one recently and am anxious about my work prospects at a highly physical job. I would like to get some feedback about recovery time nd anything that could be suggested to improve it.
All assistance would be greatly appreciated. An i might be able to give advice from my recent experiences.

Hi mate,
How has your perineal pain come along? I have a jammed sacroillic joint and experience similar problems apparently caused by an impingement opg the pudendal nerves.

Hi Jas,
I have spinal fusion and some of my friends had the laminectomy and their problem seem to come back and both that I know had to have another operation so just maybe give yourself plenty of time to heal and going to hydro pool works wonders and it will help to strengthen your back up.I am coming along great now. and its been 7 months on.

Wow, something I dont recall either and Ive been going since 1999 .
