Does anyone know of a good doctor in the Tri-State area that can repair a Hamstring Avulsion? My mom just found out she has a complete tear of the Hamstring.
We are trying to find a doctor that has done this surgery before.
If anyone else has any information on their surgery, pointers or advice please contact me.
Thanks so much
Jenny
Jenny, Did you find one? I am in so much pain after 9 weeks since complete avulsion of the hamstring. Two doctors have said they won't do the surgery and I am searching- I live in NYC. any info would be Sooo helpful.
Thanks!

Hello,
I'm a woman (from the Netherlands) , just 50 years old. I had a complete hamstring avulsion on 27-10-2009 (when skeeting). I also saw a orthopedic doctor. He decided to have no surgery, because he had some good results with other patients.
Now (almost 3 months further) I still have difficulties with walking, pain at the backside of the leg when sitting, and it's impossible to run.
I'm a very active person (skeeting, tennis, squash, mountainbiking ).
Does anyone have experiance with having no operation?
And Jenny, did your mother already got her surgery?
You need to search the hamstring avulsion thread. It is a huge thread, but most likely you'll find what you are looking for there. If you read through the thread, in general you'll find most people agree in general you should try to have the surgery, and the sooner the better.
