    Bella,

My op is less than 2 weeks away with JO in Melb. It can't come fast enough as it is now hurting to drive a manual car and stairs are a b!$ch.

I bought my elbow (half type) crtuches from an online Chemist for $60 delivered to Darwin. I didn't hire as I have no idea how long I will need them and most places only hired out the old wooden type ones. The elbow ones fit into my suitcase as well.

I can fill you in with more in a couple of weeks regarding what I can and can't do.

    Hi TChen,

Thanks for the info. Regarding your surgery - did you have a seperate pre op appointment with Dr O'Donnell or are you having it all on the same day?

I am having my pre op appt at 11am and then having the surgery on the one day, so if you are doing the same, can you please let me know the schedule about timing etc?

I also brought some aluminium crutches last week and have been practicing on them for a little bit. I unfortunately live on the 4th floor (8 flights of stairs) of a unit block so really need to get the hang of it while I am still able to...

Thanks in advance and I hope your surgery goes well. What are you having done?

    Cheers,
    AC

AC, I also have an appointment at 10 and go straight to the hospital after it for pre op and then op. I'll have my laptop so as soon as I am capable I will let you know how it goes. What date is your op? I am not 100% sure on what they will do because it is a left hip servre labral tear and quite a few small tears so JO isnt going to say exactly what he will be doing until he is in there. I am leaving it upto him.
I live in an elevated house but once I am upstairs I dont have to move far. I think I will be board more than anything.

Does anyone know what the operation procedure for FAI entails? or where we can read this information?
