Hello all, I am a newbie here...i was just recently diagnosed with labral tear and FAI about 3 months ago. I tried cortizone...did nothing, so i am scheduled to have surgery oct 5th. unfortunately, i am so what a pro when it comes to having surgery...i had four back operations with my last one being a 2lvl 360 fusion on 9/11/07. this whole hip thing has been overlooked as being part of my back issues. few months back the groin pain was so bad...so i thought oh no...this is the pain i had before the fusion...so i thought for sure something was wrong with my back...thank god no...the mri was beautiful as my doc said. so, he examined me and said def my hip. while im there i say..ur gunna think im crazy wi5th all these ailments, but my shoulder is killing me...takes a look and says yup, not right in there, so he sends me sent to an associate of his in the same practice that does special in hipand shoulder. a weeek later went to see him..he took all sorts of pics of the hip and shoulder...right aweay he knew something wasnt right with my hip, but did not want to diagnose till he got an mri. the shoulder,. ac joint sep, so he suggested to try cortizone. so i did .so while im sure many of u know what that mri is like with that arthogram...omg...i was screaming in pain!!!! i really wish he would have warned me. anyway, mri cnfirmed what he thought. all these years this groin pain, lower left back pain, i knew something wasnt right!!!!!! so now i wait anxiously...in pain....cant wait for it to be all over. just nervous about getting around after this surgery. my girls are in competiive gymnastics, i hope this will not affect them
How did the surgery go? Did they do it open or arthroscopic? Hope you are well. Some of us just aren't put together properly, it seems. Thank goodness we live in an age where we have doctors to help us piece ourselves back together!
