Just when it seemed that the worries of excessive injuries to our fast bowlers of late 2003 had subsided, Brett Lee has been sent home as he is still struggling with ankle posterior impingement, for which he will now have further surgery. Ricky Ponting is also struggling with a back injury in Sri Lanka. Australian spearhead of the past Glenn McGrath has returned to play successfully from ankle anterior impingement and is trying to play some more cricket in order to make himself available for the Zimbabwe tour.
