Hopefully you can find a good professional in Australia for treating your shoulder injuries.

Thanks, good starting point.
I am in Brisbane and in need of a reconstruction.
So anyone know who does the shoulder reconstructions for either the Brisbane Broncos or Brisbane Lions, I figure that these organisations use some of the best surgeons available so saves me doing all the ground work.
Jim Fardoulys does the shoulder recos for the Brisbane Lions, as far as I am aware.

Thanks for that. Got the results of the scan and to quote the report "there is a complete tear of the supraspinatus tendon, no tendon fibres are seen" so I guess that wont mean a reconstruction as such.Originally Posted by injuryupdate
Peter Myers does alot of work with the Broncos and the Reds.
For Sydney people, there is a great clinic I know of which is in Bondi Junction. It is The Eastern Suberbs Sports Medical Centre. (I've heard that the wallabies doctor works there). I'd also reccomend Des Bokor. He did Benji Mashall's shoulder reconstructions.
I have been to this man twice in the last 13 years. First time he said there was not much wrong with my shoulder at all and I would make a complete recovery. Of course he was writing to a Dr that was pushing to find nothing wrong with me in a Car accident claim.
I saw him again this week 13 years later, and I have not changed my opinion of him. I had Xray results and Ultrasounds should a tear in the supraspinatus tendon and tendonosis and for $250 I saw him for 5 minutes, got $84 back from Medicare and all he did was give me and injection which has not worked to date. I had to travel 3 hours down and 3 hours back for 5 minutes.
Maybe he is great with sports stars but he has no time for the ordinary person. He suggested another MRI which will make me $343 out of pocket plus physio but I have had all these before and nothing was done.
He put the tear down to age and did nothing about it.
Hi there,
In Melbourne John Salmon is a great shoulder surgeon. About 3 years ago I had my left shoulder stabilised by him and have had no problems since. Next year in late February I'm having the other shoulder done. He's got a great bedside manner and doesn't mind you asking questions.
He's treated some of the AFL players and other elite sports people too.
I think the fact that he's got a large family helps.
There's another one in Randwick called Jerome Goldberg. Have you been to him?Originally Posted by Moni

He said there was nothing wrong with me either even though I have a slap tear showing on an MRI and lots of other goodies
I found him to be quite rude and dismissive of my problems and pain.
Would not recommend him to my worst enemy.
Jerome Goldberg was far better and actually listened and explained this properly and didnt make you feel you were a friggin idiot.
Recommend the Eastern Suburbs Sports Clinic. The receptionists are very nice![]()
Saw Dr Burns who I believe is now back at Olympic Park.
