Yeah that would be great, thanks. Do you know if it's usually much of a wait? I could book in to see my surgeon again, and even though I am private, would be about 10 weeks, he is very popular here, then theres the hassle of referals, more than once I have just lived with pain because of the hoops it feels like I have to jump through trying to get answers.
The waiting is not long. But you do need a referral from your GP to see Dr Dalton because he is recognised as a rehabilitation medicine specialist/ sports physician. I didn't have to wait long to see him. He also works in two different clinics. Will send you the detail in a private message now.

Buzz, I made an appointment with a sports physician at North Sydney Orth. & Sports Medicine, her name is Sharron Flahive, and I was able to see her within the week. I read on their website that she specialises in Sports Medicine and assists the NSW Waratahs. Dr Flahive ordered an MRI and CT Arthrogram and from these results referred me to Dr Des Bokar whom she rated as the best shoulder surgeon, and she was able to get me an appointment the following week (and a half). The costs are mounting up, but I haven't had to wait a long time, whereas I understand Royal North Shore (Dr David H Sonnabend) has a waiting time of 3-6 months or longer.
I have been advised I need an arthroscopic reconstructions/SLAP repair as well as an anticipated mini rotator cuff repair while the surgeon is in there. I was diagnosed with a SLAP tear (11 - 5 'O Clock), and tear/delamination of mini rotator cuff. This was my first shoulder injury with no previous dislocations etc.
I understand the open surgery is more suited to returning to contact and high risk sports, but I guess due to the severity of the SLAP tear and my age (34) the doc has advised me to tone down the sports and have the arthroscopic repair.
I was interested to hear from anyone who has had similar arthroscopic surgery and could advise me of their results. How is the shoulder compared to before and have you been able to resume any contact or higher-risk sports after your recovery?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I went to see on ortho who told me to see some physios on Macquarie street.
I felt sure I'd need an op but they did this digital motion analysis stuff and after 8 weeks of spcific exercises to stabilise my shoulder blade I am back in the gym again
If you want non operative rehab I wouldn't go past this place. Check out www.ssop.com.au
I'd go back (not that I ever want to go back!!)
I was hoping some one may be able to recommend a good shoulder physiotherapist in the northern suburbs of melbourne.
I have recently had a hydrodilation for a frozen shoulder ( boy that was fun!) and then 2 weeks later a cortisone shot for tendonitis but neither have really helped very much, if in fact at all.
Been trying to increase my range of movement from exercises i have found on the web but i think i should try a little specialised phsio.
I also have a grade 1 slap, synovitis and a large chonroid lesion in the top of my humerus which they say is not causing my pain and is best to leave alone.
I have been to a sports medicine doctor, an orthopedic surgeon and a tumor specialist. I have had an x-ray, ultrasound, mri (without dye) & a ct scan plus other nueclear scans as well.
I work in childcare so i ned to lift and constanly use my arm. I am female & 47 yo and first noticed my pain last may/june.
The only positive i have, luckily it is my non dominant arm!
Any help much appreciated.
Alphington sports medicine 9481 5744 and Reservoir sports medicine 9471 9486 centres have good physios who should be able to help. Otherwise check out "find a physio" at www.physiotherapy.asn.au and look for sports physiotherapists. Let us know how you go.

I started going to Warringal Physiotherapy in Heidelberg 9455 1177 first with my shoulder problem and was seeing Bryce. He is excellent, but in the end said my shoulder was beyond what he could do and I should see the shoulder guru. Lyn Watson. She is absolutely brilliant. She works at the Prahran Sports Medicine clinic. I know its not in the Northern suburbs but I found it more than worth the effort to travel to see Lyn.
