Although not as common as knee cartilage problems, sometimes injury to the ankle lining cartilage can cause an ankle sprain to lead to prolonged disability.
The most susceptible part of the ankle joint to lining cartilage problems is the 'talar dome'.
In severe cases, an ankle arthroscope may be required to treat a talar dome lesion or similar ankle cartilage injury.
