The ankle sprain is said to be the most common sports injury. It is definitely the most common injury in basketball and volleyball, and one of the 'top 10' injuries in each of the football codes.
Ankle strapping has been shown to lower the rate of ankle sprains. The technique for a basic ankle strap is shown here:
1. Anchor around lower shin
2. Stirrups from anchor to anchor
3. Lock the anchor over the stirrups
