Hip arthritiship replacement x-ray

Hip arthritis is a very common problem in retired football players, although in its early stages it can even occur during the mid-twenties.

Most players with the early signs of degenerative hip conditions can continue to play but must limit their running training.

Modern surgery is excellent for treating hip arthritis, when it is severe, with a hip replacement. However, there are very few successful surgical cures for mild to moderate hip arthritis. After a hip replacement, running is not advised. One famous athlete, American Bo Jackson , has attempted to continue professional sport after a hip replacement. He developed arthritis of the hip playing in the NFL but as a former star baseballer, he attempted to return to Major League baseball as a designated hitter after having the surgery. Unfortunately his baseball career was short-lived.
