Exercise as a way of preventing disease
Exercise is now considered a major way of preventing heart disease, cancer, stroke, depression and many other diseases. It is estimated that lack of exercise is now equivalent to cigarette smoking as the equal no. 1 major preventable risk factors for disease in Western societies. Yet still there is minimal action by governments to try to increase the amount of exercise that the average member of the community does. The government makes noises about increasing physical activity (read some policies) but actually does very little.

This website is dedicated t o improving the amount of exercise that is done in the community and does not shirk at pointing out failures in current policy on inactivity.
